I have come to Shanghai for one year; as I cannot speak Chinese, it is very troublesome for me in the daily life. After introduced by my friend, I choose EET to study Chinese. The environment here is very comfortable and teachers are professional and good at teaching. From mastering the simplest phonetics to learning words and sentences, now I can already go out alone and communicate with my Chinese friends. Teachers in EET are all very hard working; they can explain things earnestly and clearly. Whenever I meet any difficult word, they always have great patent and teach me several times about how to pronounce the word, how many meanings it has in Chinese culture and how to use it in the daily life.
Now, I can even act as a Chinese guide for my friends who want to travel in China, and I feel so proud of this. When I share with my friends what I have learned in EET, they all have great interest in choosing EET to study Chinese. I think I will continue learning Chinese in the future because I love China and like the life in Shanghai.

Time passes so quickly; I have already studied in EET for three month. Now winter comes in Shanghai, and it is very cold outside. It even snows before the New Year. As my teachers told me, people in Shanghai speak Chinese very fast; even now I still cannot catch some of the words spoke out by Shanghai people. Although my teachers in EET speak Mandarin, in my first several classes, I have no idea about what they are talking. I feel that listening is the most difficult part of Chinese learning. Although I have learned Chinese in Japan for one year, I did not have listening class there, what a pity! I should practice more about the speaking and listening, as practice makes perfect. In order to improve my listening, my teachers in EET have prepared some tapes for me and always encourage me talking more in class. Even after the class, all the EET attendants are keen in teaching me Chinese and help to correct my wrong pronunciation. Now I have already been able to greet all the attendants in EET using Chinese, and I will continue to work hard on Chinese. Hope that in the near future, I can communicate with all the Chinese people freely.

I am a student from Australia. When I was in Australia, I have already attracted by the amazing Chinese culture. Today is a very happy day, as EET arranges two special activities for us foreign students: brode and making dumplings.
Threading a needle and forming yarn seem to be fun, but they are also very difficult jobs. The thread is too thin and the pinhole is rather small, I need to put great effort in order to thread a needle. However, gradually, when I try to turn those colorful threads into beautiful flowers and green leaves, a sense of accomplishment arises involuntarily. Later, I wear the pouch that is made by myself on the breast like a brooch. It is so pretty, as you can have a look at my pouch from the photo.

After doing the brode, we are all very hungry. Then it is the time for the other activity that is making dumplings. We try to follow the action of the cook, using a small stick to press the flour into flour skin, then put the prepared meat and vegetables inside and nip the flour skin to form a certain shape. It is easier said than done, the dumplings made by me are rather ugly but the cook still praises me to have done a good job.

I am a housewife who came to China with my husband. I always have plenty of time and like going out to do shopping. But as I cannot speak Chinese, inconvenience often arises. It is rather difficult for me to ask for direction, take bus and do shopping. Although nowadays in China, there exist a lot of people who can speak Japanese quite well; it is still very troublesome in many situations, as I myself cannot speak Chinese. Therefore, I came to study in EET and began to love it in a short period. Because in EET, I can not only have Chinese classes but also attend several interesting activities which is held especially for us Japanese students. I have once participated in the activities of tea ceremony, joining cloth and making dumpling.
In EET, I can both study Chinese and make lots of good friends. When I attend those activities, I always try my best to practice my Chinese and improve my communication skill that is useful in the daily life.
Now it is time for me to return back to Japan, but I will continue learning Chinese in Japanese school. And I have great confidence that even I come to China alone in the future I will never get lost again.
